Hi, I’m Joanne!
Life is pretty good! I’m married to my best friend (Kyle)
and I have an amazing and beautiful little girl. I am a former middle school
teacher now stay at home mom. I also work part time with my husband selling
treasures, aka, your old junk, on EBAY. I make a conscious effort every day to
Love Bravely. I truly believe that to love you must be brave. At times, it
would be easier to not love bravely; to turn inward to my own desires. Life hasn’t
always been easy. In fact, to put it mildly, it has had its fair share of curve
balls. My husband and I face challenges like any other married couple. However,
the challenges aren’t exactly normal. Some of the challenges have to do with
the fact that Kyle is a c5/6 quadriplegic (paralyzed in 1990 at the age of 13),
some have to do with the loss of several family members in a very short span of
time, some have to deal with navigating being a caretaker and a wife, and some
have to deal with the mere fact that I’m a woman who likes emotion, and well,
he’s a guy who does not. Life is always interesting on our small farm, but I
wouldn’t have it any other way. My faith in God has seen us through many trials
and through Him, we can do all things. God is good. All the time! Our family
consists of one dog, three goats, three barn cats, a handful of chickens, and
last, but certainly not least, our sweet baby girl whom we were blessed with
through domestic adoption. I love a good crime drama, I consider myself a
foodie, even though I love a good chicken finger, I spend time in our vegetable
garden, and on Saturday mornings you can find me at a garage sale with Kyle
sniffing out a good bargain. I hope my blog reaches those who need to hear the
Gospel, who need a good laugh, who might enjoy and perhaps smile at God’s
beauty on our micro farm, who might find comfort in relating to issues that
come up with a mobility disability, who need hope and encouragement while going
through the adoption process, or for those that just want a glimpse in the life
of a silly girl who met a handsome boy while they take one step/ roll at a time
through life.
Welcome to our blessed and crazy life!
