Happy Homemaker Monday 4/27/20

Good Morning!

We had a pretty uneventful weekened due to social distancing. I am ready to join the living again and be around people! I know that we all have to do our part and social distancing is safer for everyone. I really do feel that way, I'm just ready to get on with things...

We did do something fun yesterday though. We took a drive looking at different properties. First though, we got ice cream and cheese curds! Kyle and I have a dream of owning a few acres and building a home. We want our daughter to grow up with animals and horses. Also, I really want to own a few cows, which has been a dream of mine since I was a kid. We saw several that were really nice. Sometimes, it's fun to dream and it got us out of the house, which we so desperately needed.
I am linking up with Sandra @ Diary of a Stay at Home Mom for Happy Homemaker Monday!

Weather:

How I am feeling this morning:

I'm feeeling pretty peppy actually. I was tired this morning, but decided to go for a walk which woke me up and gave me energy. I walked 3.60 miles this morning and it was so peacful. It was acutally pretty chilly which was a nice change and I could smell the Jasmine along the fences as I walked. It was a sweet reminder of spring.

I'm also feeling excited because my husband and I are starting a 30 day slim down challenge next Monday. We are gearing up and preparing this week by using up what is in the fridge and going food shopping. The plan is very strict as to what to eat and when to eat, so this should be interesting and probably pretty intense!

On my mind:

I'm still thinking about curriculum, but not obsessivng over it like I did last week. I love to research curriculum, but baby girl is only 21 months old...so I have time. Plus, I want to savor the moments now and not yearn for the future.

Also, the many mothers and fathers who are in crisis and need help and support making a difficult decision. I am walking to help support our local pregnancy crisis center and all the moms and dads are on my mind right now. I can't imagine how they are feeling, especially during this crazy pandemic. I hope and pray that they are feeling God's love and grace.
On the breakfast plate:
Fat free Greek yogurt with bluberries and honey

Hot Yerba Mate

On my reading pile:
Still reading and enjoing Dances with Wolves. I am loving all the details the author is giving about the camp and the thoughts that are going through John's head as he is learning to cope with isolation.

On my tv:
We are watching the 3rd season of The Crown and loving it!

On the menu this week:
It's a bit eclectic because we are using up what we have in order to start the new food plan next week.

Monday - Artichoke dip burgers wrapped in lettuce
Tuesday -  Chicken and veggies
Wednesday - Tuna Wiggle
Thursday -  Chiken Broclio Casserole
Friday -  Meatballs and veggie
Saturday - Quiche
Sunday -  Quiche or other leftovers

From the camera:

Sweet baby girl is enjoying watching The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh with her friends from the Hundred Acre Woods!

Looking around the house:
Lots of toys to put away... never ending battle
Dishes to do still...
I want to clean and organzie the middle room
Laundry to fold

Chore I'm not looking forward to today, or this week:
Cleaning bathrooms

To relax this week, I will:
Continue reading my book and working on my blog

Walking

On my prayer list:
Our country

Coronavirus and all the people it's affecting

Devotional/Bible Verse:
My devotional this week is about how the Bible is trustworthy.
Joshua 21:45 "Not one word of all the good promises that the Lord had made to the house of Israel had failed; all came to pass."

  2. What a sweet little girl, love that she's surrounded by all her Pooh friends :) Sometimes the best meals are those where we are using up what we have on hand.

  4. The tuna wiggle on your menu sounds interesting. I have never heard of that. Could you let me know how to make that? Your daughter is so cute sitting with her friends. Children truly do gladden our hearts!

  5. So sorry for the late response! My baby girl is keeping me very busy and I'm loving every minute of it. Tuna Wiggle was my mom's recipe. It's basically tuna noodle casserole. One box of noodles (normally use mostaccioli or penne noodles) 2 cans of cream of mushroom soup, 2 cans tuna drained, one cup or more to taste of your choice of cheese (I prefer colby jack), 3/4 cup milk, and then your choice of topping. I normally use crushed up saltine crackers or potato chips, ritz are good though too.
